Building an inclusive community
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM COACH TED
Greetings, friends!
It is with a heavy heart that I write to share that, after 16 wonderful years at the helm of Friends in Need, I have been called to serve a church in Mercer Island, Washington.
While it is difficult to say goodbye, I leave knowing the program is in excellent hands. Rich, Kerin, Roger, Anastasia, and Mike will continue the work that we have built together over the years. I have been truly blessed to watch hundreds of players and buddies come through this incredible program. One of my greatest joys has been seeing friendships form, barriers come down, and our community become more welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
I am especially grateful to Ruben Bolognesi for trusting me to help begin a program that has provided a safe, welcoming place where our differently abled friends could experience fun, companionship, and opportunities for physical, emotional, and social growth.
Although I will remain on the Board, the continued success of Friends in Need depends on all of us. I hope you will prayerfully consider making a donation so this wonderful program can continue serving our community for years to come. Donations may be made through Venmo at friendsinneedva (202-486-0432) or by check mailed to the address below.
One of my goals has always been to build not just a program, but a support network. While I may no longer be with you in person, please know that I am only a phone call away. You are always welcome to reach out to me.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives. Serving this community has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I love you all, and I will miss you dearly.
With gratitude and affection,
Coach Ted
